Getting into the More Complicated Things
This week in ISM we have already had two assignments that although are time consuming, have allowed for me to become better prepared in order to find a mentor. My first assignment was to finally create my digital portfolio, something that was tedious for me since it was a website format. There are several edits I will need to make in the future, but for now it is done and it looks like what I envisioned it to be. I also had to finalize and submit my original work proposal. It was honestly difficult thinking about what I wanted my original work to be, but after looking at the different examples previous ISM students made, I found the actual process of typing and thinking to be easier than expected.
While I am beginning my search for a mentor this week, I need to focus on the acceptances rather than the rejections or lack of responses. In order to achieve this type of focus, I need to be able to professionally grow and acknowledge the fact that neither everything nor everyone will follow the expectations and rules I have set out for myself. Regardless of my worries, I expect that everything will work out for the best and I will continue to succeed in some way.
